Proverbs 12:14 - From the fruit of his mouth a man is satisfied with good, and the work of a man's hand comes back to him.

hunters/utility

Below are the fixed blade hunting, every day carry (EDC), and utility knives I offer; they range in size from 6" oal to 9" oal, and are designed to fill any role you may have for a sturdy fine working tool, or simply as a collectors piece.

Unless otherwise specified prices are between $400 - $750 depending on steel choice/finish, and handle material.  Mirror polishes, hamon, and high-end handle material such as Desert Ironwood fall in the higher end of the price range.  All of my knives include a hand-stitched and wet formed leather sheath.

Stainless versions (RWL34 and CPM154) may only be available in limited quantities annually so please email me to get on the list.

W2/hamon can be requested for any knife at any time and is my primary steel.

* RWL34 stainless is limited in quantities/availability as it is an imported steel from Damasteel in Sweden.  CPM154 will serve as a backup for RWL34.

* The older model Penance and Gauntlet models are only available in 1095/hamon, micarta, and leather sheath for a fixed price of $385.

Sgian Dubh

The Sgian Dubh (skee-en-DOO') is a traditional Scottish small knife, or 'Black Knife' (dark handle material being most common), worn either tucked into an upper garment or in a sock when among friends.  It was the perfect knife for concealed daily carry and useful in a wide variety of camp and utility chores, and self defense.  While historical examples vary widely depending on the region and the bladesmith, I've created two sizes that are my personal interpretation of the historically inspired design: a large 7" OAL version, and soon to come a slightly smaller and thinner 6" OAL version.

I offer all of my Sgian dubh in RWL34 (primarily), or W2, with either stainless steel or bronze guard, and choice of hardwood (depending on availability); African Blackwood, cocobolo, ironwood, or curly koa.

The handle carvings are varied and I take the liberty to interpret the design as I see fit, depending on the handle material, to ensure that each and every Sgian Dubh I create will be individual and unique.

Large Sgian Dubh are a base price of $675 with satin finish (RWL34) or W2/hamon.  Small Sgian Dubh will be a base price of $625.  Mirror polish is an additional $50 (stainless only, no mirror polish on high carbons).  The Sgian Dagger is a special project blade and pricing starts at $775.

All of my Sgian Dubh come with a hand-stitched leather sheath of your choice: sock-slip, full pocket sheath, horizontal carry pouch sheath, or vertical carry pouch sheath.
